Bring your own Beverage

This weeks diva challenge was to use your favourite beverage as inspiration. An example was given using coffee to stain a zentangle tile and then tangling it how ever you wanted. This gave our Saturday crafty afty group something to play with, we started off by colouring our tiles with coffee and tea as we always stop half way to have a tea break and some delicious homemade cupcakes. I showed them how to draw some tangles with heart shapes to add to their tangle collection and here is our artwork.

Irene's tile, new to zentangle today she did fab as it was not the easiest to start with, sent her off with zentangle basics as she loved it.

And finally here a few pieces I tangled.

The first tile I used a butterfly stencil and coloured it using coffee, I waited for it dry and then fully coloured the tile and it left the butterfly in a darker shade. I left the butterfly shape blank and used printemps around the edges. The top right tile, I dragged a spoonful of coffee across the tile and again for the second line. The third tile is one big splash of tea done a few times waiting for each layer to dry. This was great fun and a great way to make a tan tile if you have none.

Happy Tangling!

  1. What fun to do this with a group. They came out wonderful. I like your third tile and the tangles you used. A clever idea to leave the butterfly shape blank and tangle around it.
